This 15-week course explores the role of innovation in enterprise growth. Through assigned readings, cases, and group projects we explore the organizational and individual challenges associated with pursuing innovation as a driver of firm growth. The course also explores the tension between tradition and innovation as applicable to large family businesses including some of the most enduring ones (e.g., Ford, Dell, Walmart, BMW). The course uses a live case where students work with a real enterprise to develop a growth solution.
